CVE-2026-72325 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-21 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf/x86/amd/core: Avoid enabling BRS from the SVM reload path Branch Sampling (BRS) and Last Branch Record (LBR) are mutually exclusive hardware features, and users of both are tracked via cpuc->lbr_users. When SVM is toggled on a CPU, the host perf events are reprogrammed to update the HostOnly filter bit (set when virtualization is enabled, cleared when it is disabled). On PerfMonV2-capable processors, this reprogramming is performed by calling amd_pmu_enable_all() to rewrite the event selectors. However, amd_pmu_enable_all() also calls amd_brs_enable_all(), which enables BRS whenever cpuc->lbr_users > 0. Having active LBR events satisfies this gating on processors that have LBR but not BRS. The kernel then tries to set the BRS enable bit in DebugExtnCfg (MSR 0xc000010f). Since that bit is deprecated on such hardware, the write results in a #GP: Call Trace: <IRQ> amd_pmu_enable_all+0x1d/0x90 amd_pmu_disable_virt+0x62/0xb0 kvm_arch_disable_virtualization_cpu+0xa/0x40 [kvm] hardware_disable_nolock+0x1a/0x30 [kvm] __flush_smp_call_function_queue+0x9b/0x410 __sysvec_call_function+0x18/0xc0 sysvec_call_function+0x69/0x90 </IRQ> <TASK> asm_sysvec_call_function+0x16/0x20 RIP: 0010:cpuidle_enter_state+0xc4/0x450 ? cpuidle_enter_state+0xb7/0x450 cpuidle_enter+0x29/0x40 cpuidle_idle_call+0xf5/0x160 do_idle+0x7b/0xe0 cpu_startup_entry+0x26/0x30 start_secondary+0x115/0x140 secondary_startup_64_no_verify+0x194/0x19b </TASK> Fix this by ensuring that BRS is not enabled from the event selector reprogramming path even when cpuc->lbr_users > 0.
CVE-2026-96303 1 Microsoft 1 Powershell 2026-10-20 6.5 Medium
Improperly implemented security check for standard in Microsoft PowerShell allows an unauthorized attacker to bypass a security feature over a network.
CVE-2026-68118 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 8.2 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tcp: challenge ACK for non-exact RST in SYN-RECEIVED The SYN-RECEIVED request-socket path in tcp_check_req() accepts an in-window RST without requiring SEG.SEQ to exactly match RCV.NXT. A non-exact RST therefore removes the request instead of eliciting a challenge ACK. RFC 9293 section 3.10.7.4 applies the RFC 5961 reset check in SYN-RECEIVED: an exact RST resets the connection, while a non-exact in-window RST must trigger a challenge ACK and be dropped. Apply that check before the ACK-field validation, following the RFC sequence-number, RST, then ACK processing order. Factor the per-netns challenge ACK quota out of tcp_send_challenge_ack() so request sockets can share it. Use the request socket's send_ack() callback and its own out-of-window ACK timestamp to send and rate-limit the response.
CVE-2026-64298 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 7.1 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFSv4: include MAY_WRITE in open permission mask for O_TRUNC POSIX requires write permission to truncate a file, so an open() that specifies O_TRUNC must be authorized for write access regardless of the O_ACCMODE access mode. nfs_open_permission_mask() builds the access mask passed to nfs_may_open(), which is the local authorization gate for OPENs the client serves itself from a cached write delegation via the can_open_delegated() path in nfs4_try_open_cached(). The mask is derived from O_ACCMODE alone, so an open(O_RDONLY | O_TRUNC) against a file the caller cannot write requests only MAY_READ and passes the local check. The OPEN is then satisfied locally and the truncation is issued to the server as a SETATTR(size=0) over the delegation stateid, which the server accepts under standard write-delegation semantics. POSIX requires that this open fail with EACCES. Include MAY_WRITE in the mask whenever O_TRUNC is set so the local check matches the access the server would have enforced.
CVE-2026-63913 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 8.2 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: conntrack: tcp: do not force CLOSE on invalid-seq RST without direction check An unintended behavior in the TCP conntrack state machine allows a connection to be forced into the CLOSE state using an RST packet with an invalid sequence number. Specifically, after a SYN packet is observed, an RST with an invalid SEQ can transition the conntrack entry to TCP_CONNTRACK_CLOSE, regardless of whether the RST corresponds to the expected reply direction. The relevant code path assumes the RST is a response to an outgoing SYN, but does not validate packet direction or ensure that a matching SYN was actually sent in the opposite direction. As a result, a crafted packet sequence consisting of a SYN followed by an invalid-sequence RST can prematurely terminate an active NAT entry. This makes connection teardown easier than intended. So, tighten the state transition logic to ensure that RST-triggered CLOSE transitions only occur when the RST is a valid response to a previously observed SYN in the correct direction.
CVE-2026-98479 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 6.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: libiscsi_tcp: Check the data direction of a Data-In PDU The Data-In branch of iscsi_tcp_hdr_dissect() resolves the ITT to a task and copies the PDU's data segment into that command's scatterlist without asking whether the command was reading. iscsi_tcp_r2t_rsp() in the same file does ask, and rejects an R2T for a command that is not DMA_TO_DEVICE. A target that answers a WRITE command's ITT with a Data-In therefore has the initiator write target-supplied bytes into the pages that write was about to send. Those are the caller's own pinned pages for an O_DIRECT write, and page cache pages for a buffered one. Observed against a test target that emits one 512-byte Data-In naming a 128 KB write's ITT, after the R2T for that write. With O_DIRECT the caller's buffer ends up holding 512 bytes of the target's data while pwrite() returns 131072. Buffered is quieter: pwrite() and fsync() both succeed, nothing is logged, and reading those blocks back returns the target's bytes out of the page cache without a command going on the wire. Check the direction before using the scatterlist, the way the R2T path already does.
CVE-2026-62322 1 Python-social-auth 1 Social-core 2026-10-17 6.5 Medium
Python Social Auth is a social authentication/registration mechanism. Prior to 5.0.2, the LINE backend exchanges an authorization code without validating the returned OAuth state. An attacker can begin authorization for an attacker-controlled LINE account and induce a victim to visit the resulting callback URL, causing the application to log the victim into the attacker's account. When account linking is enabled, the same missing validation can link the attacker's LINE identity to the victim's existing account and create a persistent unauthorized login path. Only applications with the LINE backend enabled are affected. This issue is fixed in version 5.0.2.
CVE-2026-18659 1 Jetty 1 Jetty 2026-10-17 6.5 Medium
In Eclipse Jetty, across various versions of `jetty-security`, and `jetty-eeN-security`, and `jetty-eeN-servlet`, the Jakarta Spec constraints defined as `http-method-omission` can be bypassed by using substrings of the defined HTTP Methods.
CVE-2026-89448 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-16 9.3 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: iommu/vt-d: Force requesting ACS when tboot is enabled Currently the conditions of requesting ACS in detect_intel_iommu() don't include tboot, leading to a possible misconfiguration with ACS disabled (e.g. due to user opts) while iommu is later forced on by tboot_force_iommu(). Fix it by checking tboot in detect_intel_iommu().
CVE-2026-85805 1 Microsoft 22 Windows 10 1607, Windows 10 1809, Windows 10 21h2 and 19 more 2026-10-16 6.5 Medium
Improperly implemented security check for standard in Windows PowerShell allows an unauthorized attacker to bypass a security feature over a network.
CVE-2026-74305 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-16 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Tighten cgroup storage cookie checks for prog arrays The fix in commit abad3d0bad72 ("bpf: Fix oob access in cgroup local storage") is still incomplete. The prog-array compatibility check treats a program with no cgroup storage as compatible with any stored storage cookie. This allows a storage-less program to bridge a tail call chain between an entry program and a storage-using callee even though cgroup local storage at runtime still follows the caller's context, that is, A -> B(no storage) -> C(storage) path. Requiring exact cookie equality would break the legitimate case of a storage-less leaf program being tail called from a storage-using one. Instead, only accept a zero storage cookie if the program cannot perform tail calls itself. This keeps A -> B(no storage) working while rejecting the A -> B(no storage) -> C(storage) bridge.
CVE-2026-43057 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-15 7.5 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: correctly handle tunneled traffic on IPV6_CSUM GSO fallback NETIF_F_IPV6_CSUM only advertises support for checksum offload of packets without IPv6 extension headers. Packets with extension headers must fall back onto software checksumming. Since TSO depends on checksum offload, those must revert to GSO. The below commit introduces that fallback. It always checks network header length. For tunneled packets, the inner header length must be checked instead. Extend the check accordingly. A special case is tunneled packets without inner IP protocol. Such as RFC 6951 SCTP in UDP. Those are not standard IPv6 followed by transport header either, so also must revert to the software GSO path.
CVE-2023-4039 1 Gnu 1 Gcc 2026-10-14 4.8 Medium
**DISPUTED**A failure in the -fstack-protector feature in GCC-based toolchains that target AArch64 allows an attacker to exploit an existing buffer overflow in dynamically-sized local variables in your application without this being detected. This stack-protector failure only applies to C99-style dynamically-sized local variables or those created using alloca(). The stack-protector operates as intended for statically-sized local variables. The default behavior when the stack-protector detects an overflow is to terminate your application, resulting in controlled loss of availability. An attacker who can exploit a buffer overflow without triggering the stack-protector might be able to change program flow control to cause an uncontrolled loss of availability or to go further and affect confidentiality or integrity. NOTE: The GCC project argues that this is a missed hardening bug and not a vulnerability by itself.
CVE-2026-70174 1 Microsoft 4 .net, .net Framework, Microsoft Visual Studio 2026 Version 18.10 and 1 more 2026-10-13 8.8 High
Improperly implemented security check for standard in .NET allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code over a network.
CVE-2026-98255 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-11 7.0 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tcp: exclude old ACKs from tcp fast path Exclude old ACKs before SND.UNA from the tcp fast path as well as ACKs after SND.NXT. Such ACKs will fall through to the slow path, where tcp_ack() performs the appropriate validation and challenge ACK handling according to RFC5961 and Commit 3d501dd326fb1c7 ("tcp: do not accept ACK of bytes we never sent"). This prevents old ACKs from being accepted or modifying connection state as part of the fast path before appropriate ACK validation is applied. In particular, this prevents payload carried by a segment with an excessively old ACK from advancing RCV.NXT before the ACK is rejected.
CVE-2026-103001 2 Jpadilla, Pyjwt Project 2 Pyjwt, Pyjwt 2026-10-08 6.5 Medium
PyJWT is a Python implementation of JSON Web Token standards. From 2.11.0 through 2.13.0, PyJWT's PyJWT._merge_options() method can modify a caller-supplied mutable options mapping when verify_signature is false. If an application reuses that same mapping for a later decode() or decode_complete() call and changes verify_signature to true, the mapping can retain false values for expiration, not-before, issued-at, audience, issuer, subject, and JWT ID checks. A signed token with invalid registered claims can then be accepted without disabling signature verification, but applications that create a fresh options mapping for each call are not affected.
CVE-2026-35191 1 Openssl 1 Openssl 2026-10-08 3.7 Low
Issue summary: The OpenSSL QUIC server, when configured to not preform address validation, can be forced to count incoming packets multiple times in its unvalidated credit computation, leading to a violation of the RFC 9000 unvalidated connection amplification limit of 3 times the amount of data received. Impact summary: A remote attacker able to spoof packets to a server using the OpenSSL QUIC implementation might use the server for an amplification of a DDoS attack. CWE: CWE-440: Expected Behavior Violation Description: OpenSSL's QUIC stack, when operating as a server, enforces client address validation (RFC 9000, Section 8), to confirm the peer address is not used for a traffic amplification attack. If this feature is disabled on the server, the QUIC stack limits the amount of server data that can be sent to 3 times the amount of data received from the peer address, until such time as the TLS handshake is completed. The OpenSSL QUIC server, when operating in non-validation mode, adds the length of the whole datagram received to the unvalidated credit limit when processing each QUIC packet in the datagram. A remote peer may, after establishing a connection with an initial client hello frame, send a subsequent datagram containing multiple QUIC packets, leading the server to account the entire datagram length for each packet in the datagram, resulting in the server believing that the peer has sent more data than it actually has, thereby violating the 3x amplification limit mandated by the RFC. FIPS impact: no As the QUIC stack lives outside the FIPS module boundary, no FIPS modules are affected by this CVE.
