CVSS v3.1 |
| The nbconvert tool, jupyter nbconvert, converts Jupyter notebooks to various other formats via Jinja templates. From 5.4.0 until 7.17.2, ExtractOutputPreprocessor in nbconvert/preprocessors/extractoutput.py joins the attacker-controlled cell output metadata filename to output_files_dir without limiting the result to the intended directory. When a victim converts a malicious notebook with the markdown, LaTeX, reStructuredText, or AsciiDoc exporter, path traversal in the output filename can write attacker-controlled output data to arbitrary locations accessible to the victim. Running the notebook cell again replaces the malicious output metadata, but merely converting the supplied notebook does not. This issue is fixed in version 7.17.2. |
| A flaw was found in GNU patch. An attacker can achieve arbitrary file creation outside the intended working directory by enticing a user or automated workflow to apply a specially crafted patch file. Due to missing validation during automatic patch reversal, absolute file paths in patch headers are accepted rather than rejected. Consequently, the utility can create files in arbitrary locations with the permissions of the executing user. |
| deeptutor 1.4.0 contains a path traversal issue in EditFileTool.execute. Through the live tutorbot WebSocket interface, a remote caller can induce the tool layer to write or edit absolute paths outside the intended bot workspace. |
| BusyBox libarchive Symlink Directory Traversal Arbitrary File Creation Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to create arbitrary files on affected installations of BusyBox. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.
The specific flaw exists within the libarchive component. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of a user-supplied path prior to using it in file operations. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to create files in the context of the current user. Was ZDI-CAN-27556. |
| A vulnerability has been identified in .NET Client Library for SIMATIC S7 Webserver API (All versions < V3.3.61). Affected applications do not properly validate filenames received from remote servers during ticket downloads.
This could allow an attacker who can manipulate the ticket response to write arbitrary files outside the intended download directory and, when overwriting is enabled, replace existing files accessible to the application. |
| Quasar Framework is a framework for building high-performance Vue.js user interfaces. From 3.1.0 until 3.3.0, @quasar/app-vite SSG page definitions returned by getSsgPages() could supply dir and filename values that were joined to build.distDir without verifying the final destination. Parent traversal or an existing symlink below the distribution directory could create new HTML files or directories outside the output tree with the build user's permissions. Application configuration and SSG page definitions are trusted by default, so exploitation requires a build process that derives them from external or otherwise less-trusted content; existing files remain protected by the renderer's no-overwrite behavior. This issue is fixed in version 3.3.0. |
| Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') vulnerability in Drupal Media Library Importer allows Path Traversal. This issue affects Media Library Importer versions: from 0.0.0 to 2.1.6. |
| Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') vulnerability in ACF Extended ACF Extended acf-extended allows Path Traversal. This issue affects ACF Extended: from n/a through 0.9.2.7. |
| Pillow is a Python imaging library. From 11.2.1 until 13.0.0, Arrow export assumes that an image's rows are tightly contiguous and exports from im->blocks[0].ptr even when PILLOW_ALIGNMENT makes aligned_linesize include row padding or an aligned offset before the first row. The resulting Arrow buffer can include uninitialized padding, bytes preceding the first row, or stale heap contents from previously freed images. Applications that configure alignment and export images to Arrow can therefore disclose one user's pixels or other process memory to another user. This issue is fixed in version 13.0.0. |
| Dulwich before 1.2.9 fails to validate DOS drive letter prefixes in Git tree path elements on Windows, allowing arbitrary file write. Attackers can craft a malicious repository with a tree entry named 'C:' that bypasses NTFS validation and writes files outside the worktree to achieve remote code execution. |
| A flaw was found in the PathResourceManager component of the Undertow web server. This component is responsible for serving static files from the file system. The issue occurs because the mechanism used to verify if a symbolic link points to a safe location only checks if the target path starts with a specific string, without ensuring it matches a full directory name. This could allow an attacker to access files in a sibling directory if that directorys name starts with the same characters as an authorized safe directory. |
| Trigger.dev before 4.5.0-rc.3 contains a path traversal vulnerability in the api/v1/packets and api/v2/packets endpoints that allows authenticated tenants to escape their object key prefix through an unsanitized filename splat segment. Attackers holding one valid API key can supply ../ sequences to obtain presigned GET or PUT URLs and read or overwrite other tenants' run payloads and outputs. |
| Stonewuu ai-fusion-video through 1.2.0 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows authenticated users to write uploaded files outside the media directory via the subDir parameter of POST /api/storage/upload. Attackers can supply parent-directory sequences that LocalStorageStrategy.storeBytes never normalizes, creating directories and writing attacker-controlled files with chosen extensions anywhere the service account can write. |
| Fossify File Manager through 1.6.2 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows crafted ZIP archives to write files outside the extraction folder by bypassing an unanchored startsWith check. Attackers can supply archive entries like ../<name>_x/file to create or overwrite files in sibling folders when a user extracts the archive. |
| The Post Export Import with Media plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Directory Traversal in all versions up to, and including, 1.17.2 via the 'theme_slug' parameter. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with administrator-level access and above, to perform actions on files outside of the originally intended directory. Exploitation requires the peiwm_enable_admin_download_buttons feature to be enabled in the plugin settings. |
| TinyMCE Thumbnail Gallery plugin for WordPress before 1.1.0 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to read arbitrary files via the href parameter. Attackers can send GET requests to /php/download-image.php with traversal sequences like ../../../../wp-config.php to retrieve database credentials and system files. Exploitation evidence was first observed by the Shadowserver Foundation on 2023-10-19. |
| A security vulnerability has been detected in leomoon-studios wiki-go up to 1.9.1. Affected by this issue is the function DeleteComment of the file internal/comments/comments.go of the component Comment Deletion Handler. The manipulation of the argument documentPath leads to path traversal. The attack may be initiated remotely. The exploit has been disclosed publicly and may be used. Upgrading to version 1.9.2 can resolve this issue. The identifier of the patch is 224ef2a11facddef6b3a3c1f0a69156d1e574a33. It is advisable to upgrade the affected component. |
| Improper limitation of a pathname to a restricted directory ('path traversal') in Microsoft Office SharePoint allows an authorized attacker to execute code over a network. |
| countly-server is the server-side part of Countly, a product analytics solution. Prior to 24.05.50 and 25.03.44, the authenticated data-migration deletion route in plugins/data_migration/api/api.js passes the user-controlled exportid to clean_up_data without path validation. plugins/data_migration/api/data_migration_helper.js concatenates that identifier into a path resolved outside the intended import directory and calls remove recursively, allowing an application administrator or user with migration permission to delete writable files or directory trees and cause data loss or service disruption. This issue is fixed in versions 24.05.50 and 25.03.44. |
| countly-server is the server-side part of Countly, a product analytics solution. Prior to 24.05.50 and 25.03.44, public image and screenshot routes implemented in frontend/express/app.js, plugins/star-rating/frontend/app.js, and plugins/dashboards/frontend/app.js concatenate attacker-controlled wildcard paths without containment validation. On deployments using the local filesystem backend, an unauthenticated request can traverse outside the intended asset directories and reach getStats or getStream in api/utils/countlyFs.js, allowing arbitrary readable server files to be disclosed. The affected routes include /appimages/*, /memberimages/*, */screenshots/*, /star-rating/images/*, and /dashboards/images/screenshots/*. This issue is fixed in versions 24.05.50 and 25.03.44. |
