CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amd/display: avoid divide-by-zero in __is_lut_linear()
__is_lut_linear() computes the expected value of each entry with
expected = i * MAX_DRM_LUT_VALUE / (size - 1);
If it is ever called with a single-entry LUT, size - 1 is zero and the
kernel takes a divide error (#DE). A LUT with fewer than two entries
cannot describe a linear mapping anyway, so return false early instead
of dividing by zero. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amd/display: fix division by zero in get_estimated_bw()
get_estimated_bw() divides by link->dpia_bw_alloc_config.bw_granularity,
which is zeroed by reset_bw_alloc_struct() and only populated once
DP_TUNNELING_BW_ALLOC_CAP_CHANGED has been handled.
link_dp_dpia_handle_bw_alloc_status(), the DPCD interrupt handler,
calls get_estimated_bw() whenever DP_TUNNELING_ESTIMATED_BW_CHANGED
is set, independently of whether DP_TUNNELING_BW_ALLOC_CAP_CHANGED
has ever fired for that link. A connected USB4/DPIA tunneling device
that reports an estimated-bandwidth change before ever reporting a
capability change drives a division by zero in this IRQ path.
link_dpia_send_bw_alloc_request() already guards the same
bw_granularity division; add the identical guard here rather than
introducing a new pattern.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amd/display: Avoid divide by zero by initializing dummy pitch to 1
[Why]
If the dummy values in `populate_dummy_dml_surface_cfg()` aren't updated
then they can lead to a divide by zero in downstream callers like
CalculateVMAndRowBytes()
[How]
Initialize dummy value to a value to avoid divide by zero. |

| A Division-by-Zero vulnerability in the ff_sws_init_single_context function (/libswscale/utils.c) of FFmpeg N-122528-gdd2976b9e1 allows attackers to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via a crafted input. |
| rclone versions >= v1.72.0 and <= v1.74.4 (fixed in v1.75.0) contain multiple denial-of-service vulnerabilities in the archive backend's SquashFS parser, which relies on the github.com/diskfs/go-diskfs dependency. The parser fails to validate attacker-controlled superblock and metadata values before use. An attacker who can place or modify a SquashFS image in storage exposed through an rclone :archive: remote can craft a malicious image that triggers an integer division-by-zero panic (zero block size), an out-of-bounds slice panic (out-of-range inode metadata offset), or a non-progress CPU loop (truncated metadata stream). Variants 1 and 2 terminate the rclone process and, via 'rclone serve sftp', can crash the entire SFTP server; variant 3 causes sustained CPU consumption. Parsing is lazy, so a victim or remote client must address or descend into the malicious archive object to trigger it. |
| Aria2 version 1.37.0 and below is affected by a Divide By Zero issue in src/bittorrent_helper.cc, which allows a remote malicious user to cause a Denial of Service |
| libjpeg-turbo 3.2.0 contains an integer division-by-zero vulnerability in the PNG loader. When processing a valid indexed-color PNG image with a non-gray palette through tj3LoadImage12() or tj3LoadImage16() using the default pixel format, the application may trigger a division-by-zero in alloc_sarray(), causing a SIGFPE and denial of service. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: enetc: fix potential divide-by-zero when num_vsi is zero
For i.MX94 series, all the standalone ENETCs do not support SR-IOV, so
pf->caps.num_vsi is zero. This leads to a divide-by-zero in
enetc4_default_rings_allocation() when distributing rings among PF and
VFs.
Division by zero is undefined behavior in C. On ARM64, the UDIV/SDIV
instructions silently return zero rather than raising an exception, so
the issue does not cause a visible crash. However, relying on this
behavior is incorrect and poses a cross-platform compatibility risk.
Add an explicit check for num_vsi == 0 and return early after the PF's
rings have been configured. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/i915/vrr: require valid min/max vfreq for VRR
Ensure the EDID provided min/max vfreq are valid. Most scenarios are
already covered (by coincidence) through the checks in
intel_vrr_is_capable() and intel_vrr_is_in_range(), but be more explicit
about it. At worst, a zero min_vfreq could lead to a division by zero in
intel_vrr_compute_vmax().
Discovered using AI-assisted static analysis confirmed by Intel Product
Security.

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
samples/damon/mtier: error out for zero quota goal target values
Patch series "mm/damon: avoid division by zero from damos_quota_score()".
DAMON_SAMPLE_MTIER and DAMON_LRU_SORT allow the user to trigger division
by zero in damos_quota_score(). Avoid it by adding parameters validation
checks.
This patch (of 2):
damos_quota_score() can trigger division by zero if the target_value is
zero. DAMON_SAMPLE_MTIER lets users set the target_value via
node0_mem_{used,free}_bp parameters. It doesn't guard zero value case,
though. As a result, users can trigger division by zero. Fix the issue
by returning an error when the user tries to start DAMON with zero
node0_mem_{used,free}_bp parameter values.
DAMON_SAMPLE_MTIER is just a sample module, but the consequence is quite
bad. Also the zero node0_mem_free_bp parameter might look like a
reasonable setup to some users. Hence, the issue might really happen in
the real world.
One reliable way to reproduce the issue is like below:
# cd /sys/module/damon_sample_mtier/parameters
# echo 4096 > node0_start_addr
# echo 8192 > node0_end_addr
# echo 8192 > node1_start_addr
# echo 81920 > node1_end_addr
# echo 0 > node0_mem_free_bp
# echo Y > enabled
# dmesg -w

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mm/damon/lru_sort: error out for >10000 active_mem_bp
damos_quota_score() can trigger division by zero if the target value is
zero. DAMON_LRU_SORT lets users set the target value for the hot memory
scheme via active_mem_bp parameter. It avoids setting it as the target
value if the parameter value is zero. However, it also sets the cold
memory scheme with a target value that is calculated as '10000 -
active_mem_bp + 2'. Hence, if a user sets active_mem_bp 10002, the cold
memory scheme's quota goal target value can be zero. As a result,
division by zero can be triggered. Fix by returning an error when the
user tries to start DAMON with >10000 active_mem_bp parameter value.
It makes no sense to set active_mem_bp with 10002. It also requires
module parameters write permission to reproduce the issue. That said, the
consequence is quite bad.
One reliable way to reproduce the issue is like below:
# cd /sys/module/damon_lru_sort/parameters
# echo 1000 > wmarks_high
# echo 995 > wmarks_mid
# echo 0 > wmarks_low
# echo 10002 > active_mem_bp
# echo Y > enabled

hwmon: (adt7470) Fix divide-by-zero TOCTOU crash in fan speed read
If the fan data becomes 0 between the FAN_DATA_VALID() check and the
FAN_PERIOD_TO_RPM() conversion, it will result in a divide-by-zero crash
due to a race with a concurrent update of the cached fan value.
