CVSS v3.1 |
| A flaw was found in GIMP. The PSD thumbnail resource loader performs a BGR-to-RGB channel swap with a fixed 3-byte stride and does not verify that the JPEG thumbnail is RGB. A crafted grayscale PSD thumbnail can cause a heap out-of-bounds read and write in the plug-in process, leading to a crash and potentially arbitrary code execution when the victim browses or opens the file. |
| A flaw was found in GIMP. Opening a crafted XCF that selects a path and then fails to load that path can cause a use-after-free in the main process, leading to a crash and potentially arbitrary code execution. |
| A flaw was found in libmodulemd. In builds with rpmio support enabled, compressed modulemd YAML is decompressed through a custom read handler that does not enforce a cumulative decompressed-size limit before parsing. An attacker who can supply a highly compressible compressed YAML file can cause excessive CPU and memory consumption, resulting in a denial of service. |
| A stack-based buffer overflow flaw was found in fetchmail when built with NTLM support. A malicious or compromised mail server advertising NTLM authentication can send a crafted Type 2 challenge that causes fetchmail to write past a fixed stack buffer while building the NTLM authenticate response. This may lead to remote code execution depending on stack-frame layout, or to authentication failure or process termination under memory hardening. |
| This candidate was rejected after further investigation determined that it is not a security vulnerability. The client certificate chain is validated during mTLS negotiation at the TLS layer or reverse proxy before Keycloak processes CRL Distribution Point or OCSP URLs, so only certificates issued by a CA explicitly trusted by the administrator can trigger these requests. |
| A flaw was found in cockpit-machines. When saving Virtual Network Computing (VNC) console settings, the configured password is passed directly as a command-line argument to an underlying system utility. A local unprivileged attacker on a host that allows cross-user process inspection could read the exposed password from the process list while another user modifies settings. This credential disclosure can allow unauthorized access to the guest virtual machine's graphical console. |
| A flaw was found in cockpit-machines. This vulnerability allows a local attacker to expose sensitive Virtual Machine (VM) credentials, including plaintext passwords, by inspecting process command-line arguments during VM creation or installation. The cockpit-machines component passes password values directly on the command line, making them visible to other local users on systems where process arguments are not restricted. Successful exploitation leads to information disclosure, potentially compromising VM access. |
| A flaw was found in cockpit-machines. This vulnerability allows a local attacker with the ability to inspect process metadata to disclose a sensitive Red Hat Subscription Management (RHSM) offline token. The token is exposed when it is passed as a command-line argument to a helper script during the token validation process. Successful exploitation could lead to the compromise of confidentiality, as the exposed token can be used to request access tokens. |
| A flaw was found in `cockpit-machines`. This vulnerability allows a local attacker with the ability to inspect running processes to expose sensitive guest virtual machine (VM) credentials, such as `rootPassword` and `userPassword`. This occurs when the `install_machine.py` script passes these credentials as a JSON command-line argument during VM creation or installation. The exposure is limited to the period when the installation workflow is active and depends on host process-visibility policies. |

ice: fix double-free of tx_buf skb
If ice_tso() or ice_tx_csum() fail, the error path in
ice_xmit_frame_ring() frees the skb, but the 'first' tx_buf still points
to it and is marked as valid (ICE_TX_BUF_SKB).
'next_to_use' remains unchanged, so the potential problem will
likely fix itself when the next packet is transmitted and the tx_buf
gets overwritten. But if there is no next packet and the interface is
brought down instead, ice_clean_tx_ring() -> ice_unmap_and_free_tx_buf()
will find the tx_buf and free the skb for the second time.
The fix is to reset the tx_buf type to ICE_TX_BUF_EMPTY in the error
path, so that ice_unmap_and_free_tx_buf().
Move the initialization of 'first' up, to ensure it's already valid in
case we hit the linearization error path.
The bug was spotted by AI while I had it looking for something else.
It also proposed an initial version of the patch.
I reproduced the bug and tested the fix by adding code to inject
failures, on a build with KASAN.
I looked for similar bugs in related Intel drivers and did not find any. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netfilter: nat: use kfree_rcu to release ops
Florian Westphal says:
"Historically this is not an issue, even for normal base hooks: the data
path doesn't use the original nf_hook_ops that are used to register the
callbacks.
However, in v5.14 I added the ability to dump the active netfilter
hooks from userspace.
This code will peek back into the nf_hook_ops that are available
at the tail of the pointer-array blob used by the datapath.
The nat hooks are special, because they are called indirectly from
the central nat dispatcher hook. They are currently invisible to
the nfnl hook dump subsystem though.
But once that changes the nat ops structures have to be deferred too."
Update nf_nat_register_fn() to deal with partial exposition of the hooks
from error path which can be also an issue for nfnetlink_hook. |

smb: client: fix UAF in decryption with multichannel
After commit f7025d861694 ("smb: client: allocate crypto only for
primary server") and commit b0abcd65ec54 ("smb: client: fix UAF in
async decryption"), the channels started reusing AEAD TFM from primary
channel to perform synchronous decryption, but that can't done as
there could be multiple cifsd threads (one per channel) simultaneously
accessing it to perform decryption.
This fixes the following KASAN splat when running fstest generic/249
with 'vers=3.1.1,multichannel,max_channels=4,seal' against Windows

eth: bnxt: fix truesize for mb-xdp-pass case
When mb-xdp is set and return is XDP_PASS, packet is converted from
xdp_buff to sk_buff with xdp_update_skb_shared_info() in
bnxt_xdp_build_skb().
bnxt_xdp_build_skb() passes incorrect truesize argument to
xdp_update_skb_shared_info().
The truesize is calculated as BNXT_RX_PAGE_SIZE * sinfo->nr_frags but
the skb_shared_info was wiped by napi_build_skb() before.
So it stores sinfo->nr_frags before bnxt_xdp_build_skb() and use it
instead of getting skb_shared_info from xdp_get_shared_info_from_buff().

nvme-tcp: fix potential memory corruption in nvme_tcp_recv_pdu()
nvme_tcp_recv_pdu() doesn't check the validity of the header length.
When header digests are enabled, a target might send a packet with an
invalid header length (e.g. 255), causing nvme_tcp_verify_hdgst()
to access memory outside the allocated area and cause memory corruptions
by overwriting it with the calculated digest.
Fix this by rejecting packets with an unexpected header length. |

PCI: imx6: Fix suspend/resume support on i.MX6QDL
The suspend/resume functionality is currently broken on the i.MX6QDL
platform, as documented in the NXP errata (ERR005723):
https://www.nxp.com/docs/en/errata/IMX6DQCE.pdf
This patch addresses the issue by sharing most of the suspend/resume
sequences used by other i.MX devices, while avoiding modifications to
critical registers that disrupt the PCIe functionality. It targets the
same problem as the following downstream commit:
https://github.com/nxp-imx/linux-imx/commit/4e92355e1f79d225ea842511fcfd42b343b32995
Unlike the downstream commit, this patch also resets the connected PCIe
device if possible. Without this reset, certain drivers, such as ath10k
or iwlwifi, will crash on resume. The device reset is also done by the
driver on other i.MX platforms, making this patch consistent with
existing practices.
Upon resuming, the kernel will hang and display an error. Here's an
example of the error encountered with the ath10k driver:
ath10k_pci 0000:01:00.0: Unable to change power state from D3hot to D0, device inaccessible
Unhandled fault: imprecise external abort (0x1406) at 0x0106f944
Without this patch, suspend/resume will fail on i.MX6QDL devices if a
PCIe device is connected.

Because MAX_PAGE_ORDER, kmalloc can max alloc 4096 * (1 << 10), 4MB
memory, each array entry is pointer(8byte), so can save 524288 pages(2GB).
Further more, costly order(order 3) may not be guaranteed that it can be
applied for, due to fragmentation.
This patch change udmabuf array use kvmalloc_array, this can fallback
alloc into vmalloc, which can guarantee allocation for any size and does
not affect the performance of kmalloc allocations. |

bpf: Fix a sdiv overflow issue
Zac Ecob reported a problem where a bpf program may cause kernel crash due
to the following error:
Oops: divide error: 0000 [#1] PREEMPT SMP KASAN PTI
The failure is due to the below signed divide:
LLONG_MIN/-1 where LLONG_MIN equals to -9,223,372,036,854,775,808.
LLONG_MIN/-1 is supposed to give a positive number 9,223,372,036,854,775,808,
but it is impossible since for 64-bit system, the maximum positive
number is 9,223,372,036,854,775,807. On x86_64, LLONG_MIN/-1 will
cause a kernel exception. On arm64, the result for LLONG_MIN/-1 is
LLONG_MIN.
Further investigation found all the following sdiv/smod cases may trigger
an exception when bpf program is running on x86_64 platform:
- LLONG_MIN/-1 for 64bit operation
- INT_MIN/-1 for 32bit operation
- LLONG_MIN%-1 for 64bit operation
- INT_MIN%-1 for 32bit operation
where -1 can be an immediate or in a register.
On arm64, there are no exceptions:
- LLONG_MIN/-1 = LLONG_MIN
- INT_MIN/-1 = INT_MIN
- LLONG_MIN%-1 = 0
- INT_MIN%-1 = 0
where -1 can be an immediate or in a register.
Insn patching is needed to handle the above cases and the patched codes
produced results aligned with above arm64 result. The below are pseudo
codes to handle sdiv/smod exceptions including both divisor -1 and divisor 0
and the divisor is stored in a register.

mm, slub: avoid zeroing kmalloc redzone
Since commit 946fa0dbf2d8 ("mm/slub: extend redzone check to extra
allocated kmalloc space than requested"), setting orig_size treats
the wasted space (object_size - orig_size) as a redzone. However with
init_on_free=1 we clear the full object->size, including the redzone.
Additionally we clear the object metadata, including the stored orig_size,
making it zero, which makes check_object() treat the whole object as a
redzone.

To address the issue, use orig_size to clear the used area. And restore
the value of orig_size after clear the remaining area.
When CONFIG_SLUB_DEBUG not defined, (get_orig_size()' directly returns
s->object_size. So when using memset to init the area, the size can simply
be orig_size, as orig_size returns object_size when CONFIG_SLUB_DEBUG not
enabled. And orig_size can never be bigger than object_size. |

ice: Fix improper extts handling
Extts events are disabled and enabled by the application ts2phc.
However, in case where the driver is removed when the application is
running, a specific extts event remains enabled and can cause a kernel
crash.
As a side effect, when the driver is reloaded and application is started
again, remaining extts event for the channel from a previous run will
keep firing and the message "extts on unexpected channel" might be
printed to the user.
To avoid that, extts events shall be disabled when PTP is released. |
