CVE-2026-64435 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-16 8.2 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: audit: Fix data races of skb_queue_len() readers on audit_queue Multiple readers access audit_queue.qlen via skb_queue_len() without holding the queue lock or using READ_ONCE(), while kauditd writes to this field via the skb_dequeue() → __skb_unlink() path with WRITE_ONCE() protected by a spinlock. This constitutes data races. All affected skb_queue_len(&audit_queue) call sites: - kauditd_thread() wait_event_freezable() condition - audit_receive_msg() AUDIT_GET handler (s.backlog assignment) - audit_receive() backlog check - audit_log_start() backlog check and pr_warn() KCSAN reports the following conflicting access pattern (one example): ================================================================== BUG: KCSAN: data-race in audit_log_start / skb_dequeue write (marked) to 0xffffffff8512ee20 of 4 bytes by task 661 on cpu 57: skb_dequeue+0x70/0xf0 kauditd_send_queue+0x71/0x220 kauditd_thread+0x1cb/0x430 kthread+0x1c2/0x210 ret_from_fork+0x162/0x1a0 ret_from_fork_asm+0x1a/0x30 read to 0xffffffff8512ee20 of 4 bytes by task 36586 on cpu 1: audit_log_start+0x2a0/0x6b0 audit_core_dumps+0x64/0xa0 do_coredump+0x14b/0x1260 get_signal+0xeb2/0xf70 arch_do_signal_or_restart+0x41/0x170 exit_to_user_mode_loop+0xa2/0x1c0 do_syscall_64+0x1a3/0x1c0 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x76/0xe0 value changed: 0x00000001 -> 0x00000000 ================================================================== Resolve the race by switching to lockless helper skb_queue_len_lockless(), which internally uses READ_ONCE() and properly pairs with the WRITE_ONCE() write accesses already present on the writer side. CVE-2026-23374 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-15 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: blktrace: fix __this_cpu_read/write in preemptible context tracing_record_cmdline() internally uses __this_cpu_read() and __this_cpu_write() on the per-CPU variable trace_cmdline_save, and trace_save_cmdline() explicitly asserts preemption is disabled via lockdep_assert_preemption_disabled(). These operations are only safe when preemption is off, as they were designed to be called from the scheduler context (probe_wakeup_sched_switch() / probe_wakeup()). __blk_add_trace() was calling tracing_record_cmdline(current) early in the blk_tracer path, before ring buffer reservation, from process context where preemption is fully enabled. This triggers the following using blktests/blktrace/002: blktrace/002 (blktrace ftrace corruption with sysfs trace) [failed] runtime 0.367s ... 0.437s something found in dmesg: [ 81.211018] run blktests blktrace/002 at 2026-02-25 22:24:33 [ 81.239580] null_blk: disk nullb1 created [ 81.357294] BUG: using __this_cpu_read() in preemptible [00000000] code: dd/2516 [ 81.362842] caller is tracing_record_cmdline+0x10/0x40 [ 81.362872] CPU: 16 UID: 0 PID: 2516 Comm: dd Tainted: G N 7.0.0-rc1lblk+ #84 PREEMPT(full) [ 81.362877] Tainted: [N]=TEST [ 81.362878] Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS rel-1.17.0-0-gb52ca86e094d-prebuilt.qemu.org 04/01/2014 [ 81.362881] Call Trace: [ 81.362884] <TASK> [ 81.362886] dump_stack_lvl+0x8d/0xb0 ... CVE-2026-53269 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-15 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: synproxy: add mutex to guard hook reference counting As the synproxy infrastructure register netfilter hooks on-demand when a user adds the first iptables target or nftables expression, if done concurrently they can race each other. Introduce a mutex to serialize the refcount control blocks access from both frontends. While a per namespace mutex might be more efficient, it is not needed for target/expression like SYNPROXY.
CVE-2026-31500 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-15 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: btintel: serialize btintel_hw_error() with hci_req_sync_lock btintel_hw_error() issues two __hci_cmd_sync() calls (HCI_OP_RESET and Intel exception-info retrieval) without holding hci_req_sync_lock(). This lets it race against hci_dev_do_close() -> btintel_shutdown_combined(), which also runs __hci_cmd_sync() under the same lock. When both paths manipulate hdev->req_status/req_rsp concurrently, the close path may free the response skb first, and the still-running hw_error path hits a slab-use-after-free in kfree_skb(). Wrap the whole recovery sequence in hci_req_sync_lock/unlock so it is serialized with every other synchronous HCI command issuer. Below is the data race report and the kasan report: BUG: data-race in __hci_cmd_sync_sk / btintel_shutdown_combined read of hdev->req_rsp at net/bluetooth/hci_sync.c:199 by task kworker/u17:1/83: __hci_cmd_sync_sk+0x12f2/0x1c30 net/bluetooth/hci_sync.c:200 __hci_cmd_sync+0x55/0x80 net/bluetooth/hci_sync.c:223 btintel_hw_error+0x114/0x670 drivers/bluetooth/btintel.c:254 hci_error_reset+0x348/0xa30 net/bluetooth/hci_core.c:1030 write/free by task ioctl/22580: btintel_shutdown_combined+0xd0/0x360 drivers/bluetooth/btintel.c:3648 hci_dev_close_sync+0x9ae/0x2c10 net/bluetooth/hci_sync.c:5246 hci_dev_do_close+0x232/0x460 net/bluetooth/hci_core.c:526 BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in sk_skb_reason_drop+0x43/0x380 net/core/skbuff.c:1202 Read of size 4 at addr ffff888144a738dc by task kworker/u17:1/83: __hci_cmd_sync_sk+0x12f2/0x1c30 net/bluetooth/hci_sync.c:200 __hci_cmd_sync+0x55/0x80 net/bluetooth/hci_sync.c:223 btintel_hw_error+0x186/0x670 drivers/bluetooth/btintel.c:260
CVE-2025-21727 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2026-10-15 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: padata: fix UAF in padata_reorder A bug was found when run ltp test: BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in padata_find_next+0x29/0x1a0 Read of size 4 at addr ffff88bbfe003524 by task kworker/u113:2/3039206 CPU: 0 PID: 3039206 Comm: kworker/u113:2 Kdump: loaded Not tainted 6.6.0+ Workqueue: pdecrypt_parallel padata_parallel_worker Call Trace: <TASK> dump_stack_lvl+0x32/0x50 print_address_description.constprop.0+0x6b/0x3d0 print_report+0xdd/0x2c0 kasan_report+0xa5/0xd0 padata_find_next+0x29/0x1a0 padata_reorder+0x131/0x220 padata_parallel_worker+0x3d/0xc0 process_one_work+0x2ec/0x5a0 If 'mdelay(10)' is added before calling 'padata_find_next' in the 'padata_reorder' function, this issue could be reproduced easily with ltp test (pcrypt_aead01). This can be explained as bellow: pcrypt_aead_encrypt ... padata_do_parallel refcount_inc(&pd->refcnt); // add refcnt ... padata_do_serial padata_reorder // pd while (1) { padata_find_next(pd, true); // using pd queue_work_on ... padata_serial_worker crypto_del_alg padata_put_pd_cnt // sub refcnt padata_free_shell padata_put_pd(ps->pd); // pd is freed // loop again, but pd is freed // call padata_find_next, UAF } In the padata_reorder function, when it loops in 'while', if the alg is deleted, the refcnt may be decreased to 0 before entering 'padata_find_next', which leads to UAF. As mentioned in [1], do_serial is supposed to be called with BHs disabled and always happen under RCU protection, to address this issue, add synchronize_rcu() in 'padata_free_shell' wait for all _do_serial calls to finish. CVE-2026-98369 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-07 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfrm: add missing rcu_read_lock(), skb_dst_force() and dev_hold() for xfrm_trans_reinject() syzbot reported a suspicious RCU usage warning in ip6_pkt_drop(): WARNING: suspicious RCU usage in ip6_pkt_drop include/net/addrconf.h:389 suspicious rcu_dereference_check() usage! Workqueue workers run in process context where local_bh_disable() does not enter an RCU read-side critical section under CONFIG_PREEMPT_RCU. Because finish callbacks (such as ip6_rcv_finish) expect to run under an RCU read lock (performing route lookups, l3mdev lookups, and accessing RCU-protected data structures), invoking them in workqueue context without rcu_read_lock() triggers RCU lockdep warnings. Furthermore, packets queued to the workqueue via xfrm_trans_queue_net() may carry non-refcounted (noref) dst entries (e.g. from ip_route_input_noref). Additionally, on netdevice unregistration, dst_dev_put() replaces dst->dev with blackhole_netdev, so dst entries do not keep skb->dev alive while queued in the workqueue. Fix these issues by: 1. Calling skb_dst_force(skb) in xfrm_trans_queue_net() while still in the caller's RCU section to ensure dst is reference-counted before queuing. 2. Holding a reference on skb->dev via dev_hold()/dev_put() across workqueue deferral so skb->dev remains valid during finish() callback processing. 3. Acquiring rcu_read_lock() around the finish callback invocation loop in xfrm_trans_reinject().
CVE-2026-93794 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-03 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb/client: flush dirty data before punching a hole Punching a hole after a large buffered write may leave the range reported as data. Reproduce it with: xfs_io -f \ -c "pwrite -b 3m -S 0x61 0 3m" \ -c "fpunch 1m 1m" \ -c "seek -h 0" \ -c "seek -d 1m" \ /mnt/test/repro Punching 1 MiB at offset 1 MiB should produce: 0 1 MiB 2 MiB 3 MiB | DATA | HOLE | DATA | EOF Instead, the entire file is reported as data. SEEK_HOLE(0) returns EOF, and SEEK_DATA(1M) returns 1M. This happens because a dirty folio spanning the punched range can be written back after the punch and refill the hole. Fix this by flushing and waiting for dirty data in the punched range before invalidating the page cache and issuing FSCTL_SET_ZERO_DATA. The xfstests generic/539 pass against Samba/ksmbd with this change.
CVE-2026-50013 1 Spectolabs 1 Hoverfly 2026-09-14 7.5 High
Hoverfly is an open source API simulation tool. Prior to version 1.12.8, when Hoverfly is running in Diff mode, the `AddDiff()` function writes to the shared `responsesDiff` map without any synchronization (no mutex). When multiple proxy requests are processed concurrently (the normal case for any proxy), the concurrent map writes trigger Go's built-in race detector which causes a `fatal error: concurrent map read and map write`, immediately killing the entire Hoverfly process. This is trivially exploitable by sending multiple simultaneous requests. Version 1.12.8 patches the issue.
CVE-2026-89609 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-14 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ecryptfs: hold msg ctx list lock when cleaning daemon queue ecryptfs_exorcise_daemon() drops queued messages from a dying daemon without holding ecryptfs_msg_ctx_lists_mux, but ecryptfs_msg_ctx_alloc_to_free() requires that lock. Take the list lock while moving the queued contexts back to the free list to avoid racing with other global msg ctx list users.
CVE-2026-45897 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-14 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nft_counter: serialize reset with spinlock Add a global static spinlock to serialize counter fetch+reset operations, preventing concurrent dump-and-reset from underrunning values. The lock is taken before fetching the total so that two parallel resets cannot both read the same counter values and then both subtract them. A global lock is used for simplicity since resets are infrequent. If this becomes a bottleneck, it can be replaced with a per-net lock later.
CVE-2026-64056 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-02 9.8 Critical
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ethernet: cortina: Make RX SKB per-port The SKB used to assemble packets from fragments in gmac_rx() is static local, but the Gemini has two ethernet ports, meaning there can be races between the ports on a bad day if a device is using both. Make the RX SKB a per-port variable and carry it over between invocations in the port struct instead. Zero the pointer once we call napi_gro_frags(), on error (after calling napi_free_frags()) or if the port is stopped. Zero it in some place where not strictly necessary just to emphasize what is going on. This was found by Sashiko during normal patch review.
CVE-2026-53153 2 Linux, Redhat 2 Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux 2026-09-02 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mm/list_lru: drain before clearing xarray entry on reparent memcg_reparent_list_lrus() clears the dying memcg's xarray entry with xas_store(&xas, NULL) before reparenting its per-node lists into the parent. This opens a window where a concurrent list_lru_del() arriving for the dying memcg sees xa_load() == NULL, walks to the parent in lock_list_lru_of_memcg(), takes the parent's per-node lock, and calls list_del_init() on an item still physically linked on the dying memcg's list. If another in-flight thread holds the dying memcg's per-node lock at the same moment (another list_lru_del, or a list_lru_walk_one running an isolate callback), both threads modify ->next/->prev pointers on the same physical list under different locks. Adjacent items can corrupt each other's links. Fix it by reversing the order: reparent each per-node list and mark the child's list lru dead and then clear the xarray entry. Any concurrent list_lru op that finds the still-set xarray entry either takes the dying memcg's per-node lock (synchronizing with the drain) or sees LONG_MIN and walks to the parent, where the items now live.
CVE-2026-45404 1 Opentelemetry 1 Opentelemetry-go 2026-08-27 6.2 Medium
OpenTelemetry-Go is the Go implementation of OpenTelemetry. From version 0.11.0 through 1.44.0, the OpenTracing bridge's bridgeSpan contains an unsynchronized extraBaggageItems map which can cause a panic. Because Go maps are not safe for concurrent read/write access, concurrent SetBaggageItem and correlation.MapFromContext calls on the same hooked bridgeSpan can trigger a fatal runtime error—such as concurrent map read and map write or concurrent map iteration and map write—terminating the process and causing denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 1.45.0.
CVE-2026-74614 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-25 8.4 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vsock/virtio: read virtqueues under worker locks Commit bd50c5dc182b ("vsock/virtio: add support for device suspend/resume") made the *_run flags transition from false to true when restore installs replacement virtqueues. The RX, TX and event workers read their virtqueue before locking and checking the corresponding flag, so a worker delayed across freeze and restore can observe the replacement queue's running state while retaining a pointer to the deleted queue. Read each virtqueue under its mutex after checking the run flag, keeping the pointer and state in the same queue generation.
CVE-2026-72148 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-23 8.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dmaengine: dw-edma: Add spinlock to protect DONE_INT_MASK and ABORT_INT_MASK The DONE_INT_MASK and ABORT_INT_MASK registers are shared by all DMA channels, and modifying them requires a read-modify-write sequence. Because this operation is not atomic, concurrent calls to dw_edma_v0_core_start() can introduce race conditions if two channels update these registers simultaneously. Add a spinlock to serialize access to these registers and prevent race conditions. [den: update dw_edma.lock comment]
CVE-2026-68146 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-23 5.3 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ftrace: Add global mutex to serialize trace_parser access In ftrace, the trace_parser structure is allocated and initialized when a trace file is opened, and is subsequently used across write and release handlers to parse user input. The affected handler paths and their specific functions are: - Open paths: ftrace_regex_open(), ftrace_graph_open() - Write paths: ftrace_regex_write(), ftrace_graph_write() - Release paths: ftrace_regex_release(), ftrace_graph_release() If userspace opens a trace file descriptor and shares it across multiple threads, concurrent write calls will race on the parser's internal state, specifically the 'idx', 'cont', and 'buffer' fields, leading to corrupted input or undefined behavior. Fix this by adding a global mutex, parser_lock, to serialize all access to trace_parser across write and release paths, preventing concurrent corruption of parser state.
CVE-2026-72117 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-19 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: can: bcm: fix data race on rx_stamp/rx_ifindex in bcm_rx_handler() For an rx op subscribed on all interfaces (ifindex == 0), the same op is registered once in the shared per-netns wildcard filter list, so bcm_rx_handler() can run concurrently on different CPUs for frames arriving on different net devices. op->rx_stamp and op->rx_ifindex were written before bcm_rx_update_lock was taken, allowing concurrent writers to race each other - including a torn store of the 64-bit rx_stamp on 32-bit platforms. Beyond a torn store bcm_send_to_user() must report the timestamp/ifindex of the very same frame whose content it is delivering. So the assignment is placed in the same unbroken bcm_rx_update_lock section as the content comparison. As a side effect, the RTR-request frame feature (which never reach bcm_send_to_user()) no longer updates rx_stamp/rx_ifindex, since only the notification path needs them.
CVE-2026-70637 1 Hfiref0x 1 Lightftp 2026-08-14 5.9 Medium
LightFTP through 2.4 contains multiple data race vulnerabilities in ftpserv.c that allow anonymous attackers to cause undefined behavior by issuing LIST followed by ABOR commands without authentication. The control thread closes data_socket and file_fd descriptors while worker threads concurrently operate on the same fields in worker_thread_cleanup, allowing stale file descriptors to be reassigned by the OS and subsequently used by worker threads on unrelated resources, resulting in potential denial of service.
CVE-2026-64278 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-13 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: i2c: imx-lpi2c: mark I2C adapter when hardware is powered down On some i.MX platforms, certain I2C client drivers keep a periodic workqueue which continues to trigger I2C transfers. During system suspend/resume, there exists a time window between: - suspend_noirq and the system entering suspend - the system starting to resume and resume_noirq In this window, the I2C controller resources such as clock and pinctrl may already be disabled or not yet restored. If a workqueue triggers an I2C transfer in this period, the driver attempts to access I2C registers while the hardware resources are unavailable, which may lead to system hang. Mark the I2C adapter as suspended during noirq suspend and block new transfers until resume, ensuring that I2C transfers are only issued when hardware resources are available.
CVE-2024-40986 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-04 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dmaengine: xilinx: xdma: Fix data synchronisation in xdma_channel_isr() Requests the vchan lock before using xdma->stop_request.
